Instructions for maintenance for oboe
Swab the instrument through after each playing. Please use
the pull- through swabs with weight.
Keep the case open overnight.
Oil the bore of the joints about once a month. Use linseed
oil – not paraffin oil or any mineral oil.
Oil the tone holes regularly.
Keep the tone holes clean. Clean toneholes once in a while
(about four to five times a year) with a soft piece of wood (piece of
clarinet reed).
Keep your oboe case clean and free of dust
Good care and maintenance preserves the quality and reliability
of your oboe!
