and staff is dedicated to making the best possible hand-crafted bassoons.

First-class hand-crafted quality
Püchner
bassoons and contrabassoons are of first-class hand-crafted quality in
all details: we use only the most durable high-quality materials for
keywork, and our carefully and individually selected mountain maple
wood is seasoned for about 18 years and then specially impregnated.
We set for ourselves the highest possible standards in each and every
aspect of bassoon construction.

“Antique Finish” Bassoons
Beautiful antique colour in a mat lustre finish, with silver tubes
extending into the bore, introduced 1998.

Model 6000
The exclusive bassoon model 6000
fulfils highest demands and most individual
wishes: twelve keys made out of sterling silver, sterling silver tubes
extending into the bore, gliding rollers, rollers made of
“mother-of-pearl”. Its playing qualities are described by leading
professionals as outstanding.

Model Classic
Professional model with
reduced keywork, sterling silver tubes extending into the bore,
“Classic Finish”, introduced in 2005.

Model 1000 and Start
All models – even model
1000 and Start – are manufactured exactly in the same
way as our professional instruments. There are no compromises in
quality.

Extras on request
On special request Püchner bassoons can be
additionally equipped with balance hanger, double C
spatula and C#-whisper key rollers. Model 6000
is equipped with these extras as standard.
All models for the U.S.A. market are equipped with right
hand whisper key lock as well as whisper key lock for left thumb.

Bocals
Besides the traditional thin-walled bocals
Püchner manufactures thick-walled bocals of
three differing kinds. They are available both
in traditional bend as well as straight bend.

Well-prepared for extreme climates
The wood of Püchner bassoons and
contrabassoons has undergone special wood treatment
which responds well to extreme climates.

Adjustable pivot screws in two parts with nuts
Püchner bassoons model 1000 and Start
and contrabassoons are equipped with adjustable
pivot screws in two parts with nuts, especially
developed by Püchner and not be found on any
other make. Now every player is able to easily
adjust his instrument himself.

Nylon lined pivot screw keys
Another real
asset to our digital world are the nylon lined pivot
screw keys which are noise-reducing and prevent play
of the keywork in axial direction. Exclusively
Püchner bassoons models 23 and Superior as well
as contrabassoons are equipped accordingly.

Thanks to the high-quality mechanism, one of the
outstanding features of Püchner bassoons is the
long repair and service interval. Our team of highly-skilled
and experienced technicians are available, to carry out
first-class professional servicing work, and complete
overhauls including oil bath. We hereby guarantee your
