Instructions for maintenance for contrabassoon

Do not put the instrument keyside-down on your knees as water
may go into the tone holes.
|
|
After each playing session press the water key at the tuning
slide and blow it through.
|
|
Do not lie down your contrabassoon without having let water out.
|
|
Clean the crook with tuning slide thoroughly by using a
pull-through swab for bassoon-wing joint once every 6 months.
|
|
Keep the case open overnight. Clean the resonance holes of the
metal joint about four to five times a year, e.g. with a pipe cleaner.
|
|
Keep your contrabassoon case clean and free of dust.
|
|
Good care and maintenance preserves the quality and reliability of your
contrabassoon!
